9th and 10th Class Study Scheme 2024 Changed:
Paper Scheme of 9th and 10th Class 2024 Changed. Major changes have been made in the matriculation scheme of studies in Punjab. Recently, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has made some changes in the study scheme of some subjects of Matric Class 9th and 10th. These special changes were approved by the Board of Governors of PCTB in its 117th meeting held on May 9, 2024 with the aim of simplifying the curriculum and enhancing the quality of education in public and private educational institutions as well as religious madrasas in Punjab. While these recent changes in the Matriculation Scheme of Studies will not be implemented from this year, PCTB plans to make these changes permanent in the upcoming 9th and 10th academic years. Changes in Matriculation Syllabus 2024:
According to this new matric syllabus announced by PCTB, changes have been made for Islamiat (compulsory) and Pakistan Studies (compulsory) subjects. The recent notice issued by PCTB said that the total marks of both the subjects will be changed and the students will study both the subjects separately in class 9th and 10th. These new changes in matriculation syllabus are summarized below.
Adjustments in Class 9th Curriculum
Effective from the academic session 2024-2025 onwards, the Scheme of Study 2024 introduces key adjustments for Class 9 students. Notably, the subject of Islamiat (compulsory) will now be taught only in Class 9th (Matric Part 1) and its new total marks will be 100 from the earlier 50 marks. Also, the Pakistan Studies (compulsory) subject in Class 9 will be discontinued or discontinued from the academic session 2024-2025. This Revised Class 9th Syllabus 2024 is designed to facilitate the preparation and conduct of the exam.
Changes in Class 10 Syllabus
From the academic session 2025-2026 onwards, students of class 10 will witness significant changes in their syllabus. The subject of Pakistan Studies (compulsory) will now be taught only in class 10 with a new total of 100 marks. Earlier, the subject of Pakistan Studies was taught in both classes 9 and 10, but this will change from the academic session 2025-2026. And also the teaching of Islamiat (compulsory) in Class 10 (Matric Part 2) will be closed or stopped, which supports the revised syllabus of Class 10 2024.

Reasons for these new curriculum adjustments
The decision to revise the matriculation scheme of studies for class 9th and 10th students reflects a concerted effort to enhance the quality and importance of education in Punjab. By rearranging the matriculation syllabus 2024 for these two subjects; Islamiat and Pakistan Studies, authorities aim to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both subjects. By reducing the number of subjects, students will be able to focus separately on these two compulsory subjects. Implementation of these changes will begin from the academic session 2024-2025.

(لازمی) کا مضمون اب صرف دسویں جماعت میں پڑھایا جائے گا جس کے نئے کل نمبر 100

جماعت (میٹرک پارٹ 2) میں اسلامیات (لازمی) کی تعلیم کو بند یا بند کر دیا جائے

ان نئے نصاب کی ایڈجسٹمنٹ کی وجوہات
نویں اور دسویں جماعت کے طلباء کے لیے میٹرک اسکیم آف اسٹڈیز پر نظر ثانی کا فیصلہ، پنجاب میں تعلیم کے معیار اور اہمیت کو بڑھانے کی مشترکہ کوشش کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ ان دو مضامین کے لیے میٹرک کے نصاب 2024 کو دوبارہ ترتیب دے کر؛ اسلامیات اور پاکستان اسٹڈیز، حکام کا مقصد طلباء کو دونوں مضامین کی جامع تفہیم فراہم کرنا ہے۔ مضامین کی تعداد کم کرنے سے طلباء ان دو لازمی مضامین پر الگ الگ توجہ مرکوز کر سکیں گے۔ ان تبدیلیوں کا نفاذ تعلیمی سیشن 2024-2025 سے شروع ہو جائے گا۔
