Punjab Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat has made disturbing revelations regarding the matriculation (class 9) annual examinations 2024 going on in Lahore on Sunday.

Examination Centers Were Sold to the Cheating Mafia:

According to the minister, the examination centers were sold to the cheating mafia for Rs 2,000. 80,000 He added that he had received important offers and was also facing threats from the mafia.

In a statement on Sunday, the minister's spokesperson reiterated Hayat's commitment to prevent Punjab from suffering the same problems of cheating in exams in Sindh and Karachi.

He asserted that the suspension of the BISE chairman for failing to ensure transparency was just the beginning. Moreover, they leveled allegations against both the Chairman of the Board and the Controller of Examinations.

30 People Have Been Arrested:

According to him, he was closely related to an exam cheating syndicate. The minister said that 30 people have been arrested from the examination centers.

The Minister revealed that arrangements had been made in advance for the sale and purchase of Mathematics paper to be held on Monday (today). He further revealed that the private school mafia had bought exam centers to get higher marks for their students.

Price of the Paper Ranged from Rs. 4,000 to Rs 7,000

Hayat said that the price of the paper ranged from Rs. 4,000 to Rs 7,000, with watchdogs openly advertising the "fee" per paper on social media platforms.

Rana Sikandar also expressed his concern over the presence of persons monitoring the process at various examination centers who had not even passed the Class IX or X exams.

Recently, the Commissioner of Lahore, acting as the Chairman of the Lahore Board, initiated an inquiry into the assignment of examination-related duties.

BISE Lahore Controller of Examinations Announced Disciplinary Action against Officials:

Additionally, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore Controller of Examinations announced disciplinary action against officials for failing to discharge their duties. Action will be taken under the provisions of the Punjab Essential Services Act, 1958, and PEDA Act, 2006.

The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has demanded the government to replace the officials posted in the conduct branch of the Lahore Board for years.

In a statement, PTU Central General Secretary Rana Liaquat alleged that the conduct branch of BISE Lahore misrepresented the shortage of government teachers and instead appointed private individuals as supervisors at examination centres. Liaquat stressed the need for action against those involved in such malpractices.

حیات نے بتایا کہ پیپرکی قیمت روپے سے لے کر تھی۔ 4,000 سے روپے 7,000، نگہبانوں کے ساتھ سوشل میڈیا پلیٹ فارمز پر فی پیپر "فیس" کی کھلے عام تشہیر کر رہے ہیں۔
