Punjab Bike Scheme Launch Apply Now. Punjab authorities have some exciting news for students: electric bikes are on their way! Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given the go-ahead to the motorcycle scheme, which aims to facilitate transportation for students across the province.
In a recent meeting held in Lahore, the provincial administration presented a plan to provide more than 20,000 electric and petrol motorcycles to citizens, especially students, through interest-free loans. Punjab Bike Scheme Installment details and plan
Total Bikes: The government plans to distribute a total of 20,000 bikes, of which 1,000 will be electric bikes and 19,000 will be petrol bikes. And guess what? Students will not have to worry about paying any interest on their monthly installments.
Installment Plan: To make it easier for the students, the Punjab Government has collaborated with Bank of Punjab (BOP) for the distribution of motorcycles. The monthly installment of electric bikes is fixed at Rs. 10,000, while for petrol bikes, it is Rs. 5,000
Delivery: Transparency is key, so the government has decided to hold a lottery in May to ensure fairness in the distribution process.
Quota: Quotas are set to ensure equal opportunities. In urban areas, bikes will be shared equally between men and women. However, in rural areas, there is a slight difference with a quota of 70% male students and 30% female students.
The initiative by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led Punjab government aims to reduce the burden of transport for students, making it more accessible and affordable.
